Cleaning a concrete floor is a completely different animal compared to other hard surface floors.
Concrete floors require a different kind of cleaning process than other hard surface floors, and most importantly, they often require a completely different vacuum.
Vacuums that are designed for concrete floors may seem like they all do the same thing, but you would be mistaken.
Just like no vacuum is the same, no vacuum that is designed for concrete floors are made the same.

The thing is that vacuums that are designed for concrete floors are usually designed for hard surface floors in general and this is something that you should also be aware of.
Floor machines that are equipped with orbital drive technology have a bad habit of moving too fast and damaging the floor. It isn't uncommon for a machine like this to cause twisting, marking, or gouging, especially if mistakes are made when operating it.
You will not need to worry about this kind of thing at all with Oreck's floor machine. While it still oscillates at 175 RPM like most others, it is much more forgiving than most other machines of its kind, meaning it will not damage the floor at all.
Oreck's floor machine can also not just clean concrete floors, but it can clean any given hard surface floor, whether it is wood, vinyl, or tile. You can even use it to dry clean carpet floors, provided the carpet is not terribly deep.
If you are concerned about using a lot of extension cords, which is common with orbital floor machines, you will not need to be with Oreck's floor machine. It contains a 50 foot power cord. At best, this means that you will not need to worry about extension cords at all. If you are using it to clean a gym or something, you might need 1 to 2 extension cords at most.
The only thing you'll need to watch for with Oreck's floor machine is that it does not come with its own pads. Most oscillating floor machines come with their own pads, but you will need to have your own ready if you decide to buy Oreck's floor machine.
Most mops and vacuums for concrete floors can be difficult to maneuver. Whether you need to move with the oscillation or whether they are really heavy and take up a lot of space, you will need a lot of patience with these types of cleaners and they are not suitable for everybody.
If you are looking for a cleaning machine that is much easier to maneuver, consider the SpinWave, by Bissell. It is much lighter than the common hard surface floor cleaner and it contains swivel steering that makes it much easier to maneuver than other hard surface floor cleaning machines.
You can also clean many types of hard surface flooring with the SpinWave, since you will be able to attach both soft and rough pads on it. You get two of each pad with the machine and they provide the same oscillating motion that the orbiter type machines provide.
Because it is not as heavy-duty as the orbiter type cleaning machines are, you will be sacrificing a bit of cleaning power with the SpinWave. You'll probably need to look elsewhere if you are looking for a machine that can clean a large area that encounters a lot of dirt, such as a gym floor or a warehouse.
It is nearly impossible to find a vacuum that is able to adjust to any setting without changing said floor settings manually. It can be very tiresome to possess different vacuums for different floors, and you're likely to struggle with vacuums that require you to manually adjust floor settings.
All of this vanishes with Oreck's vacuum. It will automatically adjust to whatever floor you encounter, and this is a godsend if you need it for an area that contains a lot of different kinds of floor surfaces. No longer will you need to worry about possessing different vacuums for different floors or using manual settings.
The filtering system of Oreck's vacuum pulls no punches, either. It contains a hypo-allergenic filtering system that will eliminate any undesirable elements on any floor. And if you are looking for power, look no further; the brush moves at an astonishing 6500 RPMs. You will be impressed when using Oreck's vacuum on any floor.
There are a couple of things that you are going to need to watch for when it comes to Oreck's vacuum. First, you will need to put it together yourself. This is because of the automatic adjustments. There are also no side tools or any other kinds of attachments either, all you get is one upright vacuum that is as difficult to navigate with as any other given vacuum.
Upright vacuums offer practically zero room to maneuver and it can be extremely frustrating to use them, even on concrete or other hard surface floors. These types of vacuums and their orbiter counterparts can be really difficult to store as well.
You do not encounter any of those problems with the Hard Floor Expert, by Bissell. Its canister design makes it easy to maneuver and it even easier to store. You can remove the vacuum stick from the canister to make it easy to store, and the vacuum stick is very easy to move anywhere, giving you some nice options when it comes to getting into places that you just could not reach otherwise.
The power settings on the Hard Floor Expert are located right on the vacuum stick's handle, and they vary greatly, making it a solid choice for a cleaning machine for multiple purposes.
It will be extremely difficult to clean large areas with the Hard Floor Expert, however. The vacuum stick can only do so much and it can only reach so far with its limited cord length. While you should be able to clean small areas with it, you'll need something more powerful for large areas.
One of the most frustrating aspects of using any vacuum and cleaner combination is the necessity to empty water that gets dirty after cleaning. This wastes time, you'll find yourself emptying the tank more than you want, and makes floor cleaning something that nobody wants to look forward to.
You won't need to deal with this at all when with the CrossWave, by Bissell. The unit contains two different tanks, one with clean water and one with dirty water. This allows you to micromanage the process of cycling out dirty and clean water much easier.
Something that is really innovative about the CrossWave is that you'll be able to clean floors while you vacuum with the press of a button. You can easily switch between "vacuum" and "clean" mode, and you can also switch between modes for hard surfaces and carpets. This makes the CrossWave extremely versatile.
While the CrossWave is powerful enough for most hard surface floors, it is nothing compared to the more powerful orbiter machines when it comes to floors that encounter a lot more traffic such as a gym floor, store, or a warehouse. The CrossWave is designed more for household use than anything else in this case.
Vacuum cleaners are starting to become a thing of the past. Whether they are upright, canister, or orbiter designed, new technology is starting to take over and we're starting to see vacuums that do not need to be operated by anybody.
The RoboVac, by Eufy, is one of these. Forget everything you have had to deal with no matter what vacuum you were using before; the RoboVac will do most things for you. It will vacuum nearly anything from any surface, and even better, it will increase the amount of power that it thinks it needs automatically without you asking.
Another really good thing about the RoboVac is that it is wi-fi compatible. You can tell it what to do using any device that you connect it to, whether it is a phone, a PC, or a tablet. This is one more thing that speaks to its almost infinite convenience.
The RoboVac is perfect for vacuuming obscenely large areas because of automaticity, but it cleans nothing. You will still need a cleaning device for that. Also, you'll need to have AA batteries on hand if you have decided to control it with a remote control.
Upright vacuums are known for being almost one-dimensional in how they can move. There are very few upright vacuums out there that allow you to not only move freely, but can also be very effective in their cleaning methods.
You'll get the best of a few worlds with the Navigator Lift Away, by Shark. It is just as powerful as any other vacuum that are designed for concrete and other hard floors with its "hard floor hero" attachment, but it is also easy to maneuver with its swivel head.
You can also remove the pod of the Navigator Lift Away if you need to vacuum things other than floors. The pod has a hose attached to it which will allow you to clean above the floor. This is one more thing that speaks very well to how versatile it is.
The Navigator Lift Away is designed more for homes than anywhere else. While it is possible for you to vacuum gym floors, warehouses, or stores with it, it is not not ideal. Also, the "hard floor hero" attachment that you can place on it is sold separately, so if you are looking for a vacuum that you can use for hard floors immediately, you'll need to either spend some more money or look elsewhere.
Even though upright vacuums are slowly becoming a thing of the past, they still have a lot to offer, especially when it comes to vacuuming large rooms with a lot of different kinds of floors in it. Rooms like these require power, and modern vacuum designs might not have what it takes to do what is necessary.
Oreck's vacuum cleaner offers a very powerful solution to all this. Featuring brushes that whirl at 6500 RPM, you will have no problem picking up anything from any floor with Oreck's vacuum cleaner and you will notice this.
Something else about Oreck's vacuum that you will notice is that it automatically adjusts to the floors that it encounters. You will not need to worry about it being too powerful for a carpet or not powerful enough for a hard floor. It contains non-marring bumpers, as well, which is nice since most upright vacuums that are this powerful do have a tendency to damage walls if they encounter any walls.
The only thing about Oreck's vacuum that you will need to watch for is the fact that it is an upright vacuum that has practically nothing to offer when it comes to maneuvering or versatility. Expect to use Oreck's vacuum for floors and floors only.
Upright vacuums do not have a lot to offer when it comes to mobility. It can be difficult to see in front of you and it is very difficult to reach certain places. While stick vacuums solve this problem, they often leave you begging for more power so you can use them to clean with better detail.
Severin's vacuum solves all of these problems with its canister design. Unlike most other vacuums that follow a canister design, the hose that connects the stick is a little longer which means you'll be able to reach places that you wouldn't be able to reach even with other canister vacuums.
It is nice that Severin's canister vacuum allows you to reach tough places and allows you to see everything in front of you. But can it perform as well as any upright vacuum? The answer to this question is yes. Severin's vacuum contains the same kind of mult-suction cyclone technology that is shared by most upright designs
There is no way you would ever be able to vacuum any large room with Severin's vacuum, however. You'll be emptying the dust cup a lot more than you want and the cord is short, so you will need extension cords.
As mentioned previously, not all vacuums for concrete floors are made the same.
You should consider a few things before buying one, or else you might wind up with a vacuum that might not be the best for your concrete floor or for any hard surface floor, for that matter.
Here are some things you should consider before making your decision.
If you need a vacuum for a concrete floor and a concrete floor only, that is fine, but you should be aware that concrete floors are not the only floors in existence.
There is a good chance that the very vacuum that you need for your concrete floor can also be used for a tile floor, a linoleum floor, or even a hardwood floor.
Keep this in mind when seeking out a vacuum for your concrete floor.
This is an important thing to consider, especially when it comes to concrete floors.
While most concrete floors comprise a very large area, some of them are placed in small areas and this might call for a different type of vacuum.
Related to the area of your concrete floor, there might be some circumstances where you will need your vacuum to buffer your concrete floor before cleaning it.
Although this usually only applies for big rooms such as warehouses, it could also apply to small rooms as well.
Another thing that is related to not only the area of your floor but also the necessity to buffer your floor is orbital technology.
If you know how to use a floor machine that utilizes an orbiter pattern, you will be able to clean floors very, very fast no matter what that floor is made of.
A: While this may sound like a question with an obvious answer, it is not. Concrete floors are different from concrete that is used in cement. While the base formula is the same, concrete floors are made with a combination of cement and lacquer, which makes them a little less rough on the surface compared to concrete without lacquer.
A: While it is possible to use a vacuum on concrete, most common vacuums will not be as effective on concrete as they would be on other kinds of floors. This is because of the concrete and lacquer combination. Because vacuums use air for their suction and because particles are not "caught" on concrete floors as much as other floors, they will often fly around when using a common vacuum on a concrete floor.
A: Although you can literally vacuum any floor without risking any real damage to the floor, you will be wasting your time if you do this on polished concrete floors. The air produced by vacuums will blow any particles that you want to vacuum up everywhere and you will not get anywhere. You'll either need to physically sweep these floors or use vacuums that are specifically designed for these kinds of floors, which are rare.
A: There is really one way that you can clean concrete floors. You need to consider the use of lacquer in these floors and this is why there is only one real way to clean them. To clean a concrete floor, you need to first remove particles from the floor with a vacuum or sweeping device, buffer the floor, then apply the right amount of lacquer.
A: Because concrete flooring is not installed in separate planks and does not need a foundation (because concrete flooring is the foundation), it is a little cheaper than a wood floor, which needs a definitive foundation. Also, you will not need to repair concrete floors nearly as much as wood floors, which can see a lot more negative effects than concrete floors do.
